Career Counseling Services
A guidance counselling student will be assigned to you for 4 to 8 one-hour appointments. The sessions will take place in the rooms of the clinic, located on the UdeS main campus.
The sessions are supervised by experienced guidance counsellors who belong to a professional order.
Services take the form of conversations, discussions, information searches, written reflections and questionnaires. Depending on your needs, you may be given a psychometric assessment and a written report.
From the first appointment, you must sign a free and informed consent form setting out the terms of confidentiality. Your file will be kept under lock and key for 5 years, under the responsibility of the academic coordinator. The sessions will be filmed for educational evaluation. The video recordings will be secured and destroyed as soon as the grade review deadline has passed (assessment of the student’s performance).
The clinic is located on the UdeS main campus (Pavillon A1, locaux 115 à 122). There is no reception service, only a waiting room to welcome you.
Jane (fictitious name) has been a paramedic for over 15 years. She has lost her motivation at work and feels like she is going nowhere in her career. She wishes to make a career change, but does not know which area might match her interests and personality.

Terms and conditions
Response times vary depending on the demand and the time of year. When you register online, a confirmation message will appear on-screen. A few weeks before the counselling begins, you will receive an email message in order to update our waiting list. We will then contact you to assess your needs, explain the procedures and inform you of the commitments expected.
The clinic does not draw up reports for the CNESST, Emploi-Québec or any other professional entity in the field of employability. Given that the services are free, no receipt is provided for insurance purposes.
