5th and 6th grade children attending a CSRS school

The activities are led by third-year undergraduate students in psychoeducation, supervised by lecturers from the department of psychoeducation who have expertise with children.

Services in French

The recruitment period begins from the first day of school and ends around mid-September. The service is provided during four pedagogical days, according to the CSRS school calendar, between 9 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Supervision is available for your child before and after the activity (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), free of charge.

Free, but places are limited. To participate, the child must agree to attend the 4 days of activities.

The service is based mainly on the Apprendre à faire face program. This prevention program offers stimulating activities allowing youths to develop effective adaptation strategies along with personal and interpersonal skills according to their stage of development. It also aims to prepare young people for the challenges that may await them during adolescence.

Your child will have an enriching experience while having fun through various types of activities tailored to their needs. Each child is asked to fill out a questionnaire on day one to assess their coping skills. The activities will then be tailored to each child’s needs.

A follow-up on your child can be given to you by phone before each pedagogical day and when you come to drop off or pick up your child during the activities.

The activities take place in the following secondary schools of the Commission de la Région-de-Sherbrooke (CSRS):

• Le Triolet

• Mitchell-Montcalm (pavillon Mitchell)

• La Montée (pavillon Seet-François)

• École Internationale du Phare

Your child will be paired with a secondary school, taking into account your preferences and the places available.

After these four pedagogical days, I noticed a big change in my son. His self-confidence was renewed and I can feel that he’s more solid and better equipped than before. Thank you so much!

The service helped my daughter significantly. She now has more tools at her disposal to cope with the changes that lie ahead.
